Misha Oakes, MSW, LSW TF-CBT

I understand the unique pressures faced by those in high-stress, decision-driven careers, along with the toll that life changes or relationship challenges can take on mental health and identity. My focus is on helping individuals navigate these intense demands with compassion and clarity, offering a safe, non-judgmental space to process emotions and uncover unmet needs.

As a human who also has a therapist, I understand wanting to know who the therapist is as a person. Outside of my work, I find peace in nature, create through words, clay, and photographs, and value time with my family. My partner is retired from the U.S. Air Force, and we have two teenage boys. My background includes a bachelor’s degree in History with an English minor, and I hold a Master’s in Social Work, specializing in Mental Health and Trauma.

In our sessions, expect a place of safety, where we explore physical comfort and connect on a nervous-system level. I’m here to be an anchor of calm. There’s no judgment or reframing of your experience—only exploration and discovery as you process life.

With advanced training in Polyvagal Theory, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and as a registered yoga instructor, I draw on both evidence-based practices and holistic approaches to support your journey.

Curious about what my clients have to say?

“I have been seeing Misha for just over 4 months now, I have always had anger issues along with self-sabotaging issues. I have never truly felt comfortable with a therapist. Being with Misha has completely changed and opened my mind! I am working through trauma and learning to really feel my emotions. I truly cannot thank her enough for her dedication!”

“When I first met Misha, it was the darkest time in my life, and she has been such an encouraging, supportive, and honest therapist. She has made me see things for what they are and has been a tremendous ally in helping me process things I was afraid to face. I know I will forever be grateful for her, because without her professional guidance, I’m not sure where I would be.”
